As reported in the Wall Street Journal 7/16/09, The Financial Industry Regulator Authority, brokers' self-regulating arm, last month warned its members that leveraged ETFs are typically unsuitable for retail investors who plan to hold them longer than one day. This is why the Massachusetts Secretary of State is examining the sales practices of leveraged ETFs. I couldn't agree more. Stick with broad based ETFs.
